Breaking news in the i.PH blogging world

Downtime

June 29, 2007

Last night, while we were in the process of moving I.PH accounts to newer and better improved servers, we experienced technical difficulties with one of the older ones. This has rendered some I.PH accounts to be temporarily inaccessible. If your site is one of those affected, we are deeply sorry for the extended downtime. We have been working around the clock to have this problem resolved as quickly as possible, with no loss of content to anyone. As it stands, we believe we will be able to get things up and running by 1:00PM today. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.  Once more, our sincerest apologies. Good day.

UPDATE!!!

About 15 minutes ago, the affected I.PH blogs that went down are once again back online except for a handful which are still in mid-migration.

Some of you may experience seeing your galleries "empty". Please do not worry. Your content is still safe. it will just take a us a little longer to restore the contents of your photo and audio galleries.

I predict that things will be back to normal by day's end. Please check here and in the I.PH Forums for updates. Thanks folks!

How to Post to the Future

June 5, 2007

When most bloggers have to be away from their computers or from the internet for several days, they usually declare a short "blog hiatus" explaining why their blogs will be inactive for an extended period of time. However, that is only one way to go about it. Your I.PH blog actually allows you to "post to the future" or simply put, set a future date for a particular article to be posted. This lets you schedule when certain articles are published on your blog. So let's say you'll be gone for 4 days, you can prepare 4 articles to be published automatically on the days when you'll be away. Neat eh? Here's how you do it:

  • Login to your blogs and proceed to write an article as you normally would.
  • Click on the little arrow on the right of the ADVANCED SETTINGS bar to access the advanced posting options.

  • Set the time and date when you want the article posted on your blog.
  • Click Publish.

It's that simple. When the assigned time and date arrives, the article will then appear on your blog. It's a great way to keep your blog regularly updated even when you can't get to a computer or connect to the internet. Just because you're going on vacation doesn't mean your blog has to!
